TylerCo. residents say environment, water supply at risk w/proposed meat processing plant
TYLER COUNTY —
Tyler County residents joined together in prayer outside the county courthouse on Thursday as they continue to fight against a proposed meat processing plant.
They prayed before a town hall question and answer session planned for Thursday night.
State representative James White and Texas Commission on Environmental Quality officials attended the meeting.
Residents say the plant will have a negative environmental impact on the community and that the company needs to look elsewhere to set up the plant.
They also say company officials haven't been transparent.
The plant is slated to open in the fall.
KFDM/Fox 4's Chris Mullooly has the report.
