Born and raised right here in Southeast Texas makes me even more proud and dedicated to what I do; because my family is here, in Southeast Texas. I graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School and went right into broadcasting with my first job being a disc jockey at local radio station KHYS. I am also extremely proud of the fact that I was the last "station announcer" hired at NBC in 1980. After some coaching from my best friend, the sports director, I was hired to take over the weekend forecasting position.
I attended Mississippi State University through correspondence and received my certificate in Broadcast Meteorology. After 3 months of weekend forecasting, I was moved to the expanded morning show at Hometown News NBC 4 as co-host and weather forecaster. After 4 years, and a lot of coffee, I was promoted to the chief meteorologist position, heading up the finest weather department in the market at KBTV, Fox 4. After many years, and of course, after the forecasting experience of Hurricanes Rita and Ike, I was fortunate enough to take part in the merger of KBTV and KFDM and work along side the most respected forecasters in the area. My new home on the expanded Morning show on Channel 6 and Fox 4 is a dream job for me that I don't take lightly.
I`m proud to have hosted and emceed at just about every event here in Southeast Texas including, Cavoilcade, Shrimpfest, Mardi Gras, and many social and civic events. I`m also proud to have served on the board of directors for Girls Haven, The Ehrhart School of Fine Arts and Athletics, Catholic Charities of Southeast Texas and others.I enjoy talking to students and sharing my experiences with them. I attend Infant Jesus Church in Lumberton.
I like all kinds of music, especially jazz; both listening and playing. I spend my spare time dancing, cooking. If that weren`t enough, every Sunday morning from 6 to 10 a.m., I host the Cajun Express on NASH FM 101.7 along with my beautiful wife Krissy. I have a beautiful daughter Kelli, and 2 handsome boysParker (who gets a heck of a lot more fan email than I do), and Kaleb (giving any actor a run for his money), a sister that`s too wonderful, and a couple of ugly brothers. I've finally found a wonderful woman who puts up with all my activities, my wife Krissy, who helps out with all that's given us.
