UVALDE, Texas (KFDM/Fox 4) - Friends are identifying the victims of a Sunday morning helicopter crash in Uvalde.
"Bailee Ackerman Byler of Orangefield and William Troy Byler III of Bellville passed away last night," according to a family friend.
The couple was reportedly leaving their wedding when their helicopter crashed, killing the couple and pilot.
A family friend who attended the wedding said the couple got married on Saturday.
The couple got into a family helicopter and crashed into a hill about a mile away, according to the friend's social media post.
The Houstonian, a student newspaper for Sam Houston State University, reported that the victims are newlywed couple Will Byler and Baillee Ackerman Byler. Both are reportedly seniors at the university.
The Houstonian released a statement following the crash: "It is with deepest sadness that we announce the tragic passing of two Bearkats Will Byler (Agriculture Engineering senior) and Bailee Ackerman Byler (Agricultural Communication senior) in a helicopter accident departing their wedding. We ask that you keep the Byler and Ackerman families in your thoughts and prayers. — with Delores Swoyer, Louise DeKan, Carol Walker and Cindy Burell Mechler."
