State grades local school districts on how they manage your tax dollars
Five out of more than 1,000 school districts in Texas are receiving an F grade from the state for financial integrity.
One of the five school districts that received an F is Newton ISD.
Two other SETX school districts -- Beaumont ISD and Silsbee ISD -- received a grade C for financial integrity from the Texas Education Agency.
The grades are how the state holds districts accountable for how they manage taxpayers' money.
IFDM/Fox 4's Peter Eliopoulos reports on how the grades affect local taxpayers.
