Austin Energy crew arrives in Puerto Rico as part of Hurricane relief effort
PUERTO RICO —
An Austin Energy crew arrived in Puerto Rico Saturday to help with relief following a disastrous hurricane that struck the island on September 20.
The crew will now work to help rebuild the island's power grid. They'll work with other utility crews from around the country to try to get electricity back up and running. This comes ten weeks after Hurricane Maria slammed the island.
The Austin team left Austin early Saturday for the U.S. territory and will return 30 days later, on January 8. The crew of three men will coordinate and communicate as they work on planning, logistics, and public information as part of the relief effort.
