Vidor's updated city ordinance might make it safer for children

Vidor City Council voted to increase the distance between registered sex offenders and where children typically congregate.

Vidor Police Chief Rod Carroll proposed changing the ordinance, which would require sex offenders to live farther away from where children gather.
