Two Port Arthur PD vehicles damaged in chase
Port Arthur police recovered a stolen vehicle out of Hardin County and arrested a suspect who led them on a chase Friday.
The suspect, identified by police as 20-year-old Donald Paris, and two female juveniles are being interviewed by detectives.
Port Arthur PD released the following statement about the chase:
This morning PAPD detectives responded to a deadly conduct call in the 2600 block of 9th Street. While PAPD was on scene shots were (heard) fired, and a short time after the shots were heard PAPD received a description of the suspect vehicle.
PAPD officers in the area of W. 14th and Dewalt visually identified the suspect vehicle. As officers attempted to initiate a traffic stop, the suspect vehicle fled. Officers attempted to apprehend the individual in the suspect vehicle and two PAPD vehicles were damaged in the process. However, the suspect was taken into custody and a weapon recovered. Upon taking the suspect into custody it was discovered the suspect vehicle was stolen out of Hardin County. The suspect is being interviewed by detectives along with two female juveniles who where in the suspect vehicle. The investigation is still ongoing.
