Officers promoted to new roles in Jefferson County Sheriff's Office

Nine Jefferson County Sheriff's officers are promoted to new roles in the department.

Family and friends gathered at the Jefferson County Correctional Facility on Tuesday.

Sheriff Zena Stephens shook the hands of nine men and women appointed to new positions.

Many officers have served in corrections and law enforcement for more than 20 years and have looked forward to this day.

They went through a stage of testing to a review board made up of their peers.

Sgt. Manny Ramirez
