Hardin County S.O. recovers body of female drowning victim from Village Creek
The Hardin County Sheriff's Office is investigating the possible drowning of Addie Crystal Craven, 39, of Vidor.
Craven's body was found at about 8:30 a.m. in Village Creek, near the Highway 327 bridge between Lumberton and Silsbee.
Investigators say the woman was found by a fisherman who says she was nude and that it looked like the body had been there for several hours.
Hardin County Sheriff Mark Davis says at this point he does not suspect foul play.
Davis says he's been told by witnesses the woman was involved in a party the night before and alcohol or drugs may be involved.
An autopsy has been ordered and the preliminary cause of death can be determined within 72 hours.
