Contractor injured working at ExxonMobil on Highway 90

ExxonMobil workers on Highway 90 rescued a contractor who fell 10-15 feet onto scaffolding Tuesday while harnessed from elevation of about 40 feet.

First responders were placing him in an ambulance for transport to a hospital shortly before 6 p.m. He sustained a non-life threatening injury.

Statement from ExxonMobil:

"A contractor was injured at the ExxonMobil Beaumont polyethylene plant expansion project. Our thoughts are with the individual and his family. Our highest priority is the safety of our workforce and community. An investigation will be conducted to determine the cause of the incident."
