The Beaumont ISD Board of Managers voted Thursday to merge Central and Ozen high schools at the Ozen campus due to damages at Central after Tropical Storm Harvey.

The merger starts in the fall of 2018.

Superintendent John Frossard made the recommendation at Thursday's board meeting.

Central HS received significant damage at the campus from Harvey, forcing students into other BISD campuses and parts of Central that were salvageable.

KFDM/FOX 4 reporter Peter Eliopoulos will have a live report on FOX 4 at 9 p.m. and KFDM at 10 p.m.
