Police release name of homeless man whose body was found in canal off 1-10
Beaumont Police have identified a man, whose body was found in a Canal around nine Wednesday morning.
Investigators have confirmed Bobby Wayne Dodge, 46, was pulled from the water behind the Exxpress Mart, off Washington Blvd and I-10.
A store clerk says she saw the body in the water.
She says she was working when a homeless man told her of a body in the water.
The clerk says she went behind the store and saw the dead body floating in the canal.
According to Beaumont Police, the body appears to have been there for an extended period of time.
The investigation is ongoing.

Wednesday, August 29, 2018 @ 8:47 am, Beaumont Police and Fire responded to the canal behind the Exxon Station at Washington and I10. A witness told the clerk there was a body floating in the canal.
A white male was located floating in the canal and was removed from the water. The body appeared to have been in the water for an extended period of time. Detectives responded to the scene.
Judge Beaulieu was called to the scene and ordered an autopsy.
The victim has been identified as Bobby Wayne Hodge, 46 year old transient male with a previous Lumberton address. His death is still under investigation, but there is no sign of foul play.
