UPDATE: PAPD chief says shooting in vacant store at Jefferson City was accidental

Port Arthur Police Chief Tim Duriso tells KFDM/Fox 4 News that a shooting in a vacant store at the Jefferson City Shopping Center was accidental.

The shooting was reported at about midnight in the 3300 block of Twin City Highway. Police from Port Arthur and Groves responded. They found a man with a gunshot wound to the leg. He was taken by Acadian Ambulance to CHRISTUS St. Elizabeth Hospital. His injuries not believed to be serious.

Chief Duriso says police have determined the shooting was accidental and they're wrapping up the investigation.
