PAPD investigating crash that critically injured driver

PORT ARTHUR — Port Arthur Police are investigating a collision that critically injured a driver.

Police say the driver of a passenger car struck the back of an 18 wheeler shortly after 7 a.m. Thursday in the 2200 block of W SH 73.

Officers shut down Highway 73 from Winnie to West Port Arthur Road while they investigated the crash.

The highway reopened several hours later.
