Breaking News Update: Homicide at Vidor car wash

Vidor Police have just released the man of a man who was shot and killed at a Vidor car wash.

Jason McClain, 47, of Vidor, had been in an argument with a woman just before the shooting, and according to the man who fired the shots, McLain charged at him when he approached the pair.

Police are investigating the homicide at the car wash to determine if it was self defense or murder, according to Chief Rod Carroll and Captain Rodney Johnson.

Officers responded to call of shots fired at the car wash in the 100 block of Alamo off FM 105 at about 10:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Investigators say the caller told them he saw a disturbance in the roadway and shot the man after he charged at him.

When officers arrived they found McLain's body on the ground.

They say the man who called 911 told them he saw the other man arguing with a woman. He said he approached the pair and fired at the other man when he charged at him.

Police say the caller is cooperating with investigators. They haven't made an arrest.
