Beaumont Police arrest teen auto burglary suspect

Beaumont Police have arrested a teenager accused of breaking into a truck in plain view of an officer on patrol.

Shortly before 4 a.m. Wednesday, a Beaumont Police officer was patrolling in the 2300 block of North 21st Street. He saw two men burglarizing a white Dodge Ram pickup truck. Both men ran but the officer was able to catch Jakarius Wilson, 17, of Beaumont. The second man got away. He's black, approximately 5’8, 180 lbs. He was wearing red shorts and may go by the name “Trey."

Wilson was transported to the Jefferson County Correctional Facility and booked for Burglary of a Vehicle.
