Capital murder trial to begin of man charged with killing little girl

Attorneys are preparing for what could be several weeks of jury selection in the trial of a man charged with killing a little girl.

The capital murder trial of Jason Delacerda begins Tuesday morning in Hardin County.

He's charged with killing four-year-old Breonna Loftin in 2011.

The case took a long time to go to trial because prosecutors were waiting on DNA evidence.

They're seeking the death penalty.

The potential jurors will begin filling out questionnaires asking if they could support the death penalty.

District Attorney David Sheffield tells us because it's a capital case, jury selection will take weeks and testimony may not get underway until February.
