As people in Southeast Texas continue to repair and rebuild their homes post Harvey, FEMA specialists are offering advice on how to make your house as flood-resistant as possible.
Mitigation specialists are available to talk to people for free this week at McCoy's Building Supply in Orange.
They are sharing information about what products you can use in your home that are more likely to withstand another flood.
FEMA mitigation specialist Ed Trimble said, "Anything from foam insulation instead of fiberglass, to going right down to the concrete floors, scoring and finishing them... using ceramic tiles or different types of materials for doors. It's all about preventing... if you get flooded again... preventing the amount of damage and money that comes out of your pocket."
Specialists will be at McCoy's through February 2nd from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
