Port Neches man seriously hurt in head-on collision

A 59-year-old Port Neches man was was seriously injured Tuesday morning in a crash on West Port Arthur Road.

The Texas Department of Public Safety identified him as Richard Warner. He was taken to CHRISTUS Hospital St. Elizabeth in Beaumont with serious injuries.

DPS responded to a two two-vehicle crash just south of Cardinal Drive around 7:45 a.m.

Preliminary reports indicate that a Ford Explorer, driven by Warner, was traveling southbound on West Port Arthur Road.

DPS officials say that for an unknown reason, Warner drifted into the northbound traffic lane and struck a Honda passenger vehicle, driven by 24-year-old Natasha Nobles, of Beaumont. Nobles was also taken to St. Elizabeth, but her injuries did not appear to be life-threatening.

The momentum of the crash caused the Ford to rollover several times before coming to rest, according to DPS.
