Ethylene leak prompts closure of neighborhood
HARDIN COUNTY —
An ethylene leak is prompting the Hardin County Sheriff's Office and Sour Lake Fire Department to close areas near the Flint Hills Resources Sour Lake Terminal as a precaution, according to a statement from Flint Hills.
The areas include the neighborhood north of Highway 105 between N. Merchant Street and Jackson Street, as well as Shoestring Road and Old Batson Saratoga Road.
No injuries are reported.
"Flint Hills Resources HR’s top priorities are ensuring the safety of people and mitigating any potential effects to the environment," according to a statement from the company.
