Suspect arrested after escape, assault on officer in Port Arthur
Port Arthur Police have found the missing suspect who they say punched an officer and escaped during an arrest.
John Johnson Jr. is accused of punching an officer during his arrest from a family disturbance call in the 2100 block of Waverly Circle.
Port Arthur Police are searching for a missing suspect who they say punched an officer and then escaped during an arrest.
Shortly before 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, the officer responded to the 2100 block of Waverly Circle for a family disturbance.
The officer was in the process of arresting the suspect, whose name is John Johnson Jr., when Johnson began punching the officer.
The officer tased Johnson, but the suspect broke free and escaped.
That officer was taken to the medical center for minor injuries.
