Residents rescued at Griffin Park said they ‘just want this to be over’


BEAUMONT (Sinclair Broadcast Group) - The main road of the Griffin Park subdivision in Beaumont is heavily flooded.

The KEYE news team participated in the rescue of several people including a woman and her cat. As they started to reach higher ground the boat started to take on water.

Lucky they reached a safe area to dock while people unloaded from the boat.

Residents said that they have been without power since midnight. One man said he made the decision to leave with his family because they feared for their lives

The team will soon head out again to rescue Constable Earl White of the Jefferson County, precinct one.
