Woman stable after shot in both legs in Orange; neighbor shaken

A woman is in stable condition after she was shot in both legs Sunday night in Orange.

Police tell us the 37-year-old woman sustained injuries not believed to be life-threatening. She was involved in a dispute with a man, who police are not identifying at this time.

The man is a suspect in the shooting.

Officers with the Orange Police Department were dispatched shortly before 8 p.m. last night, to the 2300 block of Riverside Drive for a shooting victim.

When they arrived, the officers found a 37-year-old woman with gunshot wounds to her legs.

She was taken to St. Elizabeth Hospital for treatment.

Mary Smith, who lives in the area, tells KFDM/6 News on Fox that she fears for her safety in the neighborhood she's lived in for decades.
