Many Groves residents concerned about traffic, schools if apartment complex is built
With the possibility of a new 150-unit apartment complex in the future, many Groves residents went to Monday's City Council meeting to voice their opinions.
The project, proposed a few months back, would build the complex off Highway 73 near Highway 87.
It would have a fitness center, gym and 1,2 and 3-bedroom units.
Residents living on nearby Garner Street aren't happy about the plan though, as their street would be the fastest way to get to the complex.
"There's already cars speeding down this road all the time, so that does have a factor in it it's pretty scary," said mom Emily Thompson.
City Manager D.E. Sosa said he's happy to see so many residents passionate about projects within their city.
