Convicted sex offender, 31, accused of molesting 13-year-old in Calcasieu Parish
LAKE CHARLES —
A 31-year-old convicted sex offender has been arrested for child molestation after Calcasieu Parish sheriff's officials say he had sexual contact with a 13-year-old girl earlier this year.
Matthew J. Broussard, 31, of Sulphur, is accused of inappropriately touching a family acquaintance while she and her friend, another 13-year-old girl, were at his home March 30, according to a news release sent Thursday by the sheriff's office.
The friend told deputies she witnessed Broussard touching the alleged victim, sheriff's officials say.
Broussard, who sheriff's officials say is a convicted sex offender, was arrested June 2 and booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center and charged with molestation a juvenile.
Judge David Ritchie set his bond at $150,000.
Broussard was convicted of contributing to the delinquency of a minor in 2006 in Calcasieu Parish and computer aided solicitation of a minor in 2008 in Caddo Parish.
