Judge denies Kirbyville school superintendent's request for new trial to conceal documents
UPDATE: A Travis County district judge has denied Kirbyville CISD Superintendent Tommy Wallis' request for a new trial related to documents regarding his departure from Bryan ISD.
PREVIOUS: Kirbyville CISD Superintendent Tommy Wallis has filed a motion for a new trial.
Wallis has been fighting the release of documents related to his abrupt departure from his previous job as superintendent of Bryan ISD.
Travis County Judge Tim Sulak ruled Dec. 20 that some, but not all documents must be released to the media outlets that requested them.
But now that Wallis is asking for a new trial, the status of the documents remains in limbo.
Wallis resigned from Bryan ISD in September 2016 and became the head of Kirbyville schools in March 2017.
