Jury selection begins in Jefferson County's oldest capital case
The trial is underway in the capital murder case of a man accused of shooting and killing a mother and daughter in Beaumont's South End more than six years ago.
The case against Joseph Colone, 38, is the oldest capital case in Jefferson County.
Colone is charged in the 2010 killing of Mary Hernandez, 41, and Brianna Goodman, 16.
Sixty potential jurors were brought into the courthouse Monday and another 60 is expected to arrive Tuesday morning.
District Judge Raquel West is giving out questionnaires for potential jurors who will come back over the next couple of weeks for individual interviews.
