Good Samaritan killed after crash, Nederland man charged with intoxication manslaughter

A 37-year-old woman was killed after an alleged drunk driver hit her early Saturday morning in Beaumont.

According to police, a black Ford Focus crashed near the 4600 block of Eastex just after 12:30 a.m.

Before officers arrived, several Good Samaritans stopped to check on the car, but the driver had left the scene.

While checking on the car, 33-year-old Patrick Grandchampt of Nederland, entered the area.

Police say Grandchampt's F-150 struck Brandi Milliner.

She was taken to a local hospital, but died from her injuries.

Grandchampt was arrested and charged with intoxication manslaughter.

He is currently being held in the Jefferson County Jail.
