One year later, liquor election in Pine Forest paying dividends
A May 2016 vote that legalized the sale of alcoholic beverages in Pine Forest is bringing new revenue to the once-dry city.
Two liquor stores are open and another will be opening soon. Three convenience stores sell wine and beer.
The mayor says sales tax revenue increased 17 percent in the last quarter.
The mayor hopes the town can bring in other new businesses as well.
