Orange County sheriff's vehicle involved in collision with pizza delivery driver
ORANGE COUNTY —
An Orange County Sheriff's Office deputy's vehicle was struck by a pizza delivery driver who pulled out of a business and into the path of Patrol Corporal Andrew Hollier on Highway 62, about one mile south of I-10, according to a trooper who spoke with KFDM/Fox 4's Peter Eliopoulos at the scene at about 7:30 p.m.
Neither driver was seriously hurt, according to investigators.
The Texas Department of Public Safety responded to a multiple vehicle crash on 62 near Tulane Road around 7:15 p.m.
Hollier was traveling north on Highway 62 in a marked patrol unit when the driver of a 2004 Chevrolet pickup truck pulled out from a parking lot in the path of the patrol vehicle, leading to a collision at the pickup's passenger door.
The deputy and pickup driver were taken by ambulance to St. Elizabeth hospital in Beaumont and their injuries were not considered to be life threatening.
DPS is investigating the crash.
