Beaumont woman indicted on intoxication manslaughter charge in man's death
New developments in the case of a Beaumont woman accused of causing a crash that killed a man.
Investigators say 26-year-old Susana Monjaraz Ortiz' blood alcohol level was three times the legal limit for alcohol.
Investigators say Ortiz was drunk and on drugs.
Ortiz has been charged in the death of Carlos Delatorre, who was a passenger in the vehicle that she was driving in June 2017.
The two were friends.
Investigators say Ortiz and Carlos Delatorre were driving north on the Eastex Service Road back when Ortiz lost control of the vehicle and slammed into a tree.
Delatorre was taken to the hospital where he later died.
